The Second Son singing group was formed in 2010 by songwriter and veteran background singer Charles E. Wasson. The inspiration for the group’s name came from a sermon he heard preached concerning blessings given to the second son in the bible. Second Son is known for their original music, and smooth harmonies, as well as their choreography.

 

When introduced to singing by a friend while in junior high school, Wasson fell in love with the art. He formed a R&B group that enjoyed mild success in Detroit in the70’s. Eventually going back to his roots, Wasson heeded the call to ministry. He became a praise singer and sang in the church’s choir where his father was the assistant pastor.

 

Over a short period of time, Charles experienced several unexpected devastating deaths of loved ones, including his mother. Those deaths became a catalyst for him to become caught up in the crack epidemic of the 80’s. After 10 years of drug addiction, he was miraculously delivered when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His deliverance from drugs along with what he experienced while addicted became his testimony and inspired many of his songs.

 

Second Son’s much anticipated first CD titled “Jesus is Your Exit” is now available at all digital music outlets. The group is recorded and produced at Tanona Studios in Southfield, Michigan by Producer/Engineer Eric Tanona, and top selling jazz guitarist Tim Bowman Sr.
